Home Depot Plant Haul
I went to Home Depot to get some potting soil, worm castings, and perlite. Of course I had to stop and check out what they had in stock for plants even though I already have too many. I did buy a few but they are for the most part small and low maintenance.
These are HUGE Cyclamen flowering plants! I have never seen them this big!
They were only $10 but I resisted.

I was tempted by these beautiful orchids but I resisted. I have three orchids right now and that's enough. Actually I have 4, I forgot about the Cattleya orchid in my bathroom hahaha
Found this Lithops for $5. These are fairly rare, and the size of this one is much larger than normal. You can see how it is wrinkled on top, which means it needs water. You only need to water these "living stones" about once every other month, or whenever you see it wrinkling like this :)
Sanseveria Cylindrica (type of snake plant) for $6. I have been wanting one of these for awhile. This one is in slightly rough shape because it has been overwatered so I repotted it into succulent soil in a larger pot so those poor roots can stretch out.
Found this Fishbone Cactus (Epiphyllum anguliger) on the Clearance section for $5. The soil felt really wet and it was potted in peat moss which is not great for a succulent. I took it out of the pot and noticed it was buried really deep. As I shook of the dirt I noticed a red rubberband around the base of the roots! This can kill a plant as it grows because it will dig in and sever the roots and make it rot.
You can see the rubber band here. I cut it off and repotted it into a mix of orchid bark, succulent soil, and perlite. It is much longer now haha! These are tropical cactus so they need a little bit more water than a regular cactus and at bit less light. They are epiphytes, which means they don't really get nutrients from soil like a regular plant. They get their nutrients from light, air, and water.
Here it is, all potted up in the correct soil and spread out like it was meant to be :)
I find Home Depot to be a good place to shop for cactus and succulents as they have a really diverse selection and good prices ($3-$7 for small specimens). Lowes is better for clearance or 4" pots of tropicals. Claussens is good for rare plants, and Gardeners Supply is good for obscure plants (varieties you can't find anywhere else).
